Di provides general secretarial and
executive support to the Senator as well as being
responsible for all scheduling in relation to the
Senators daily program of activities. As well
Di deals with a range of constituent inquiries
ranging from immigration to social security.
Michael McAteer
Senior Advisor
Michael is Adelaide-based and with a background in consulting and government finance has primary responsibility for researching issues related to the Senator’s work as Chairman, Joint Statutory Parliamentary Committee on Corporations and Financial Services and Chairman, Government Members’ Industry and Resources Committee and as a Member of the Senate Economics Committee and the Government Members’ Treasury, Finance and Public Administration Committee. Michael also undertakes special projects related to the Senator’s interest in science and innovation. Additionally, he provides back-up support to Dianne Hocking in general office management, constituent case-work and liaison with government departments.
Karen Nangle
Advisor (Policy and Media)
Karen in Adelaide-based but works in Canberra when Federal Parliament is sitting and manages the Senator’s Parliament House office. Her primary responsibilities are to provide analytical research on day to day political issues and managing the senator’s media, electorate and Liberal Party communications, including press releases, newsletters and website maintenance. Karen also assists with speech preparation for parliamentary debate and public functions and prepares briefing materials relevant to the Senator’s work on the Government Members’ Agriculture; Employment and Workforce Relations; and Transport and Communications Committees.
Patrick Giam
Part-time Research Assistant
Patrick is a Law/Arts degrees student at Adelaide University and President of the Adelaide University Liberal Club. He works part-time in the Senator’s Adelaide office. He undertakes research projects and Liberal Party liaison as directed by the Senator and assists Dianne Hocking in constituent case-work and responding to correspondence.
Robert Samway
Part-time Research Assistant
Robert is an Arts Graduate from the University of New South Wales who assists in the Senator’s Canberra Office when Parliament is sitting. He monitors opportunities for participation in parliamentary debate in legislation, parliamentary documents, and prepares relevant speech notes. Additionally Robert undertakes research projects as directed by the Senator and assists Karen Nangle with general research on current issues.
